The Mobil site FAQ says that unless your car has a consumption issue or leaks you do not need to use a HM if your car has more than 75k miles but you certainly can use it at any time.

I have an 09V6 and at 40,000 miles I switched from Pennzoil conventional every 5,000 miles to Mobil 1 synthetic 5W30 every 7,500 for convenience.Some go by the MM, miles or time. Highway driving is more easy on the oil, city harder, so some adjust for that.
