There should be two screws. The first screw is in the carb body and adjusts the mixture at idle. The other screw should be on the linkage attached to th carb and adjusts the idle speed. Before doing any carb adjustment make sure the ignition system is good and timing is set. Apr 10, 2010 · Stock timing for the carb'd 300 was actually about 6 advance. It wasn't a lot. If you still have the 1bbl, I would say your float setting, as they don't have power valves and such.
